I remember I packaged this thing quite terribly. If you unpack it a few times you will get to all the individual images that are used in the theme. The .emerald file is actually a renamed .tar so it should unzip no problem. If you take that folder and manually put it into your theme directory, somewhere under /emerald (probably a hidden file in your home directory) it should show up in your theme list. Sorry it's been a very long time since I used Linux and emerald. Hope this helps
Hey the concept is really good, but the problem here is: - Maximised windows pushes the close button to almost out of the screen edge. - Invisible titlebar makes it a little awkward to identify where to hold for drag and drop. Is there any way to work around? I still love this theme you may want to make it perfect then
Hehe, I incorrectly packaged this them I think. What you should do, is download it, change the extension from .emerald to .tar.gz or whatnot, then extract it (a few time I think). Look for the folder that doesn't have a folder within it, just a bunch of nonsensical junk. Put that into your /.emerald/themes/ directory.
hey i made a "port"(more of a clone) of this for personal use it includes minimize and maximize/restore buttons, and i have a version for right side buttons like Windows and left side buttons like OSX and i was wondering if either i could put this up on my page and attribute you or if you would like to put this in the download package for people who wish to have these buttons for themselves :]
You may host/distribute this clone anywhere but here on deviantART, with proper credit. So, you can e-mail it to people if they ask, or you can upload it to another site, like gnome-look or customize.org but not here on dA. You may also submit a screenshot of it, with a link to the alternate host (this would be in the screenshots gallery, not linux utilities). I only allow ports of my work to be submitted here. A port would have been this emerald remade for a different program like ~SwaySo's truetransparency port.
ok thank you for clarifying i wasnt entirely sure what to call it but i guess its a clone? or would i say its a mod? and im not gunna get sued if i put it on gnome look or customize? thank you for taking time to answer my stupidness if you would like i can send it to you so you can view it before i put it up anywhere?
I'm not able to install it?! when I try to import the theme in emerald it does nothing! Could you send me the folder with the theme in it so I can just copy it to /.emerald? would be so nice, your theme is absolutly amazing
Because of the way this is set up, I cannot fix that. I never maximize windows anyways, but if you must, I suggest the maxiums (I think it is called something like that) plugin for compiz. I made the emerald for a big screen, because I use 2 of them
